The Retirement Decision Lab

Decision 2 · Week 2 · Wed Nov 11

How can I earn income after 60?

SHORT ANSWERThe most dependable income after 60 usually comes from what you already know: consulting, teaching, part-time work in your field, or a small business built on a skill people already pay for.

Small amounts matter. $800 a month kept for five years is $48,000 your savings never had to cover.

Income you can earn from anywhere, such as online teaching, writing or advising, travels with you if you move.

If you claim Social Security before full retirement age, check the earnings limit first. Check the tax rules in any country where you live, too.

Where it gets personal

Week 2 looks at ways to keep money coming in after 60.
